this is the year!
I was wanting to travel to INDIA ever since i was patchouli smelling 13 years old! (I still wear patchouli) and 4 days ago i got in the plane and did it!
MUMBAI here i am!
On my first day you didn't really go easy on me but i guess its the indian way to tell me "Im rough but you will like it!"
So first of all. It is IMPOSSIBLE to describe to you all how MUMBAI is. Its incredible.
Forget everything you think to know about dirty cities.
This is something else.
And it really was a BIG problem to me the first few hours. I think the cooler you are the faster the dirt wont be a problem for you anymore and since i am VERY cool it only took me day to get used to it ;)
Well guess what Europe is not the only place on earth and i am FINALLY were i want to be to see a different way of living!
(Malabar Park with cute sleeping doggy! Note to self DO NOT pet the cute street dogs! they will bite you or never ever leave you alone again!)
(So i told you that Mumbai is dirty yes, and i told you that its okay for me now yes, but THIS is SO GROSS!! its a feeding cage for the city doves ?!?! YUCK!)
( PYTHONIE)
(Meet my two in-the-front-of-my-house goats jentel and gerti, they are so cute and i was allowed to name them after asking the owner what their names were and he replied they dont have one, i told him that its a custom in my country to name animals because then they taste better (i know! lies lies!) so i named them :) Gerti specially loves bananas!)
When i was lying in bed trying to process all these images and people i met one after the other from naked children playing between goats and cows. Flies everywhere.
The smell of incense sticks, Urin and body oder was my constant companion.
Mumbai: You made me see everything. Luxury hotels and Slums.
Streetfood (literally made on the ground next to the cars) and fine dining restaurants my first day pretty much killed it yes.

When i woke up on the second day i prepared stuff like hand sanitizer and thought of where to buy my bottled water bla bla.
But then i said to myself - what ever if good enough for the people of Mumbai is good enough for me to.
(please i am not saying that you should be careless about hygiene here! it's what i decided for myself!)
And from that moment on i lost my fear of talking to people here and started to eat and drink what ever i thought looked good ;)

Being here since one day only already made my white-man-from-europe problems disappear.
I feel very humble and thankful for the life given to me!
Thank you and see you tomorrow India!
Part 2 following will follow end of the week ;)
