The Last Days ...

how did you spent your year? What would do do differently? If you could, what would you change? 2016 was a year so different from any year i have experienced in my short Life. You could say that that is the case with any year we go through and i guess you are right but it still is the way i feel about it.  One year ago i decided to pack my things and move to the Island of Bali because i needed a break from the european system and the overall mood of this continent.  I needed a change.  I had to refocus and find out (and this is not meant in any esoteric way) who i really am.  And you know what? I still don't know!  And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! What i do know is that i learned a lot about my self and how i used to handle situations and how i handle them now. I learn to see that there is ALWAYS another way and to not freak out about small things (I used to be really good at that). And even if i still somehow en...

The "Problem" with being me.

When you grow up you go through different phases or times in your life. These manifest themselves in the way you dress, the music you listen to, the political views you get or set as a standard for yourself. At some point i got to an age where i thought "okay i have to be grown up now" And that involved bundling up my past and letting it be - even looking at what i thought was right back then or belittling the essences of my former lifestyle (music, politics, etc). The years i have spent living in Vienna where just everything - literally filled with pretty much every situation one can imagine. I got empowered. I was dragged down. I gained many new friends. I lost many old friends. appreciation. rejection. Love. Pain. things that we as overall would call LIFE. In all of this my biggest problem was to find a group i belong to or to have friends who are truly my friends - not seeing that the friends i had the longest already where all i needed. Very slowly and probab...

Why gay men are the biggest Bodyshamers.

NO FATS, NO FEMS!  - Whoever among you readers is gay and tried using a Dating-App before might know these kind of Headlines on other profiles. Bodyshaming among homosexual men is pretty common. Queens, we need to talk. It's actually absurd: Many gay have experience in their past with being bullied and discriminated in some way - and still we exclude others because of their appearance. To Fat, to thin, to feminin - it's pretty easy to make a mistake. BUT WHY? Where does the "only gay in the village" look for a like-minded spirit? In the world wide web. Dating-Apps in the Gay world are no new thing at all. We have been using them way before straight people where. We have bowed to the laws of online dating years ago. It all stands of falls with your... Profile picture. It's all about the "right" display of one self. The Rule is: You are only as sexy as your profile picture. Thoughts.

So i was struggling for a time now with the thought of discussing political, racial, sexual and religious topics here. Everyday, specially when i used to live in Europe, i was confronted with so much hate towards so many minorities or groups that it literally made me sick. I got so angry or sad of it that i had health issues. Yet i am not the person who can just sit by and say nothing even it if would be the mature thing to do sometimes. So i want to throw in a facebook posting i read by my dear friend and most awesomest queer burlesque performer / writer i've met in a very long time. Ms. Denice Bourbon . For those of you who don't know who that is. Ms. Bourbon is a swedish performance artist and writer who uhm.... well this is really not about her LOL just go and buy her book and i'll PROMISE you you will not regret it!!! ANYGAY! back to the story: Denice made me aware of a cover of a supposedly "queer" Magazine from Austria. This is th...

take me to church....

... i have been thinking about this post for some time now. I was not sure if i should really write about a topic that is actually very private and something i have not processed a 100%. But due to various releases/articles in the last month and the fact that i am currently writing my first book on exactly this subject i had it on my heart to share my thoughts. Why was/am i still afraid to say my opinion? Well first of all i grew up in a church called "Freie Christengemeinde Wels" - a pentecostal church which i would say is a bit more "attractive" for younger people and people who are not so fond of the idea of sitting in a cold, old and "traditional" church. Here in Europe a "pentecostal" church is not something you find on every corner like on the bible belt in the southern states of the USA. Although the concept of this church is american, coming from the "RHEMA Churches" from Texas(www.rhema.org). So i grew up in this church with...

Thoughts. click play b4 reading ;) Coming home from a nice trip to munich where i had the pleasure of Djing for the austrian eyewear Label ANDY WOLF i was sitting in the train to Vienna.  Reading - or more looking through - the current issue of ZOO Magazine (due to the my exhaustion of the last days i was not able to read a lot of the articles – mainly written by Lotta Aspenberg it has the impression that she is the only contributer there). Reading all the great names of designers, stylists and models in the credits and beautiful editorial pictures of Artists like Patti Smith, Boy George shot by photographers like Bryan Adams(hes actually quite good!), Dancian, Sandor Lubbe and Yaèl Temmnick i wondered what makes a person famous/likeable besides the aspect of media coverage. Why do people tell me that i am famous/fabulous/amazing/unique? Why does an (amazing) eyewear Label like Andy Wolf book me to DJ for them at their Tradeshow in munich...

...sweet dreams are made of this who am i to disagree. ...you are the man from Jerusalem! I knew we met before ...would you marry me? - of course not ...i came all the way from san Francisco to see your face, you hurt me so baldy but know i knew. ...i came to dance not to  socialize ...tonight your mine completely ...put your hands inside my face and see that its just you. What to think about what not to think about. Principles that have been showed to us, principles that we should honor and live. Orders that have been given to us. Order by the church? by our parents? teachers or friends? Who are thee? You who holds his head in dark clouds Come and face reality. For once! please be your self. Don´t hide behind your age ! Take responsibility for what you have done! Live up to it! Grow up! Get your life straightened. MB
