SO! this year i swear i'll be there!  For the 11th time between the 23rd and 29th of may viennas shortfilm festival VIS will present exciting and new projections in cooperation with other filmfestivals such from Bristol or Riga - sounds promising don't you think? Anyhow - Marky will be right there and get you all the details and insider information you need! on the 26th of may VIS is presenting the price for the best MUSICVIDEO (for the 2nd time). Who is Nominated?? 14 austrian bands among them: Kreisky Bilderbuch Naked Lunch Velojet Ja, Panik Austrian Apparel KONEA RA (WOOOT WOOOT!!!!) Fijuka I am SO looking forward to this festival specially because i was not able to attend it last year due to illness. MB

VIS Vienna Independent Shorts is celebrating its 10 years anniversary in 2013, showing more than 260 films from around 40 countries at the Künstlerhaus Kino and the Austrian film museum from May 28th to June 2nd, 2013. 75 films compete in  three central competitions  – Fiction & Documentary, Animation Avantgarde and the National Competition  – for awards worth more than 20,000 euros, while the best Austrian music video is awarded with the first ever Austrian Music Video Award. A  whole day  will be decidated to music videos, including screenings as an „expanded cinema“ experience as well as a live concert at brut. This year’s festival motto  Strange Days  was inspired by Kathryn Bigelow’s science fiction film and features a journey through the surreal cinema and a joint film programme with the international short film festivals of Winterthur and Hamburg, addressing the tiny everyday tremors as well as great social, cultural or geopolitica...
